Oh "The Bachelor" finale -did you watch? Did you care? Am I the worst mom on the planet for making it a date night with my 14 year old daughter.

You know I love reality tv, and I haven't watched the "The Bachelor" since Trista and Ryan, and I am not sure what propelled me to watch this season, but I found myself on the couch with my teenage daughter every Monday night bonding over the show.  In my defense, I did try to use it as a "learning experience" like - "oh if you meet a girl like that, she is on the crazy train, and you jump off as soon as you can." Of course we also had lots of chats about hairstyles (hello Vienna's George Washington do), clothes (most too skimpy), drinking (Christine) and how NOT to act around a guy (Gia acting like like a 2 year old with her finger in her mouth -ugh!).

So last night was the finale, and although I have been reading RealitySteve.com and I kind of knew who Jake was going to pick, I just didn't want to believe it. Sure Tenley walked out of a Disney movie and instead of working in college admissions, she should absolutely be one of the princesses at Disneyland, and as one contestant brilliantly put it "Tenley sh*ts rainbows", but Vienna?  Personally, I never saw the chemistry, would never trust a girl that doesn't get along with other girls, and never saw on the finale what changed mama bear and sister-in-law bears' minds. Somehow she won them over. For god sake, after Vienna  tells the family she didn't get along with the other bachelorettes because she is "brutally honest" one sister-in-law asks "Am I fat?" and Vienna answers "Yes, hahaha." Would you let that woman in your home?

With tears in our eyes, we cried as Jake dumped sugar sweet Tenley for crazy eyed Vienna. He picked the wrong girl. While disappointing, the lessons  learned in my home last night were you'll never find true love on a reality show (duh), men can be unpredictable, and it is possible to bond with a teenager over a silly show.

okay, I dont want to be a trouble-maker but I don't get this reality show at all. "Hi, I have never met you, I love you pick me" what message does that send to our daughters? As far as reality shows I am a huge "Keeping up with the Kordashians" fan.
